At South Side Liberation Center, we see liberation as a process of pursuing wellness and thriving in mind, body and spirit. A one stop destination for wellness, we provide classes, workshops and house offices for healing artists providing bodywork, reiki, talk therapy, and hydro therapy. Responding to mental, physical and spiritual illness in the community, we offer regular classes in Mindfulness Meditation, BIPOC Meditation, LGBTQ Meditation, Yoga, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Capoeira, Dance and Yoruba Spiritual Alignment, Fetal Health Support Circle for Young Mothers, Young Fathers Support Circle, as well as workshops in healing arts such as Thai Yoga Massage, Breema Bodywork, NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association), Balanced Parenting, Plant Based Living (cooking,) Restorative/Transformative Justice, VISIONS Inclusion Workshops, and lectures and book signings by guest speakers. Responding to food deserts in the community, we have a juice bar with healthy meals and medicinal herbs. On our roof we have a green house dome for our youth run urban gardening project where students learn about permaculture and growing food without pesticides, and bringing the food they grow home to their families and community.
